About the The World Federation of Free Trade Zones

Under the landscape of the Economic Globalization, the developed and developing countries negotiate bilateral or multilateral free trade agreements, in order to obtain new global competitive advantages and to promote the Economic Globalization process. By July 2014, the WTO notified that there were 257 effective regional trade arrangement, of which 14 tax reduction agreements, 17 Customs Union agreements, 216 free trade agreements, and thousands of free trade zones.

The World Federation of Free Trade Zones is a Non-Governmental Organization registered with UN Economic and Social Council. Its found members includes Caribbean Free Trade Zones, and other 68 free trade zones,as well as research institutions, associations in free trade industries here.

The World Federation of Free Trade Zones provides services of information provision, policy studies, strategy consulting, business facilities, travel services, investment services, investment attractions, training and education, and forum and exhibitions to build a serving and resources sharing platform. This platform attracts various members, creates incentive mechanism for members to organize own community to produce huge coordination effect, and ultimately creates a free trade zones ecosystem, to build the global free trade zones operation network.

Information Function: Disseminating information from free trade zones, and conducting global free trade zone policy studies.
Collecting news and information from free trade zones, organizing different levels of summits or forums, promoting the information sharing, communications and learning between free trade zones, helping enterprises quickly and conveniently learn the information of free trade zones.
Promotional cooperation: Building cooperation networks between global free trade zones, making rules of corporation between free trade zones.
We will promote deep cooperation between free trade zones on the aspects of rules, patterns, and mechanism. We will explore new mechanism of cooperation for mutual benefits. We will explore mechanism of cooperation meeting the conditions of different counties. We will guide the implementation of the strategy of free trade zones.
Research Consultation: Study Free Trade Zone Development Model, Provide Free Trade Zone Development Consultation
We will unite academic experts, social organizations, to study free trade zones, to conclude the pattern and features of development and operation, in order to assist the development of free trade zones. We will try to prevent the risks in the operation of free trade zone, improve the government regulatory capacity to the open environment, establish and improve the strict implementation such as security check, anti-monopoly, and ex post facto regulatory to ensure the safety of free trade.
Education and training: Training the free trade zone specialists, disseminating the knowledge and experience of free trade zones.
We act as the platform of education and training, will serve the enterprises, to provide multi-dimensional training and consulting services, to make enterprises taking better advantages of free trade zones.
Dispute arbitration:
When disputes occurred between free trade zones, we can act as professional mediation institutions to involve in the dispute arbitration, proving third-party judgments or consulting services for the dispute mediation and arbitration.
investment services: Assisting the investment on the free trade zones, providing the investment services for tree trade zones.
We will be directly or indirectly involved into the investment related to free trade zones, including funds, technologies.
Promoting free trade rules
We will reference to the international rules and the trend of development, combine with the level of development of free trade zones and governance capacity, to provide relevant services. We will promote intellectual property protection, environmental protection, e-commerce, competition policies, government procurements and other related regulations.
Promoting the construction of free trade zones.
We will actively promote the construction of free trade zones in new economies, large developing countries, main economic organizations and developed countries; we will build the BRIC market, the new economies market and developing country markets. We will improve the construction of high-level free trade zones, improve the level of opening on goods and service trading, improve the investment access in free trade partners.
